Grand Canyon National Park Airport (GCN) is the closest airport to the South Rim — about 1 mile from the park's south entrance and a 15-minute drive to the rim viewpoints. Terminal & Facilities

A compact field — not a commercial-airline terminal. What you'll actually use on the ground.

No airport is closer to the South Rim. GCN sits in Tusayan, 1 mile from the National Park's south entrance and about 8 miles — a 15-minute drive — from Grand Canyon Village and the classic rim viewpoints. It's the launch pad for nearly all of the canyon's fixed-wing and helicopter sightseeing.

GCN has almost no commercial terminal gates — traffic is scenic and charter. For mainline airline connections you'll still route through Las Vegas, Flagstaff or Phoenix. Our scheduled scenic service connects it to Boulder City near Las Vegas in about an hour.

Commercial Service & Operators

No scheduled major airlines today — the field runs on scenic & charter.

Grand Canyon Airport has no scheduled major-airline service today — scheduled jet service ended decades ago, and the airport now runs almost entirely on scenic air tours and charter. Seasonal scheduled scenic flights still operate from Boulder City/Las Vegas and Phoenix, and a handful of Part 135 operators fly sightseeing tours over the canyon from here.
