Boulder City Municipal Airport (BLD/KBVU) is the departure point for nearly every fixed-wing Grand Canyon scenic flight from the Las Vegas area — including ours. It sits 7 miles from Hoover Dam and about 25 miles from the Strip, with no scheduled airline service: it's a dedicated charter and sightseeing hub. Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines has flown the canyon since 1927 and bases its scheduled scenic service here, to the West Rim, South Rim and Page.

Boulder City is the doorstep to the Lake Mead and Hoover Dam side of the canyon country — and the launch point for the air routes that skip the long desert drive. Hoover Dam is about 15 minutes away and the Las Vegas Strip roughly 35 minutes, while the canyon rims are a short scenic flight rather than a half-day drive.
Scenic flights moved here from Las Vegas in the 1990s for two reasons: airspace and noise rules, and geography — Boulder City is 25 miles closer to Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the canyon. We provide complimentary roundtrip transfers from select Las Vegas Strip and downtown hotels.
The signature view: routes radiating from BLD. Toggle destinations vs. getting here.
Boulder City is the hub: Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines flies scheduled fixed-wing routes from BLD to the West Rim (GCW), the South Rim (GCN) and Page (PGA) for Antelope Canyon — each crossing Lake Mead and Hoover Dam on the way out.

No scheduled airlines — this is a dedicated charter and scenic base.
Boulder City Municipal Airport has no scheduled commercial airline service — and that's by design. Like many municipal airports, it operates as a general-aviation field; here it doubles as the busiest fixed-wing and helicopter sightseeing base in the region. Travelers fly into Harry Reid International (LAS) and transfer the ~25 miles to Boulder City for their scenic flight.
