Grand Canyon is Open. South Rim hotels in Tusayan are open for business.
Reach the Grand Canyon's South Rim — inside the National Park — in about an hour on a daily round-trip flight, with fares starting at $305 round-trip. Instead of nine hours behind the wheel, you trade the drive for a Vistaliner flight over Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and the canyon's deepest reaches — landing one mile from the park entrance.

One daily round-trip — here's how the day lays out.
The return is the second half of the same round trip — the same scenery, in reverse.
The return is the second half of the same round trip: you fly Grand Canyon (GCN) → Boulder City in the afternoon, landing back at Boulder City Municipal in about an hour — the same flight over the canyon's deepest reaches, Lake Mead, and Hoover Dam, seen from the opposite angle.
There is no scheduled major-airline service from Grand Canyon National Park Airport to Las Vegas, so the way back to the Las Vegas area is the Grand Canyon → Boulder City flight, then a complimentary hotel transfer or a rideshare to the Strip (about 35 minutes from Boulder City).

The closest airport to the South Rim — 1 mile from the National Park's south entrance and about 8 miles (a 15-minute drive) from Grand Canyon Village and the main viewpoints. State-of-Arizona owned; no scheduled major-airline service — Part 135 scenic and air-taxi operators only.
Land one mile from the park gate — ground transport carries you to the rim viewpoints.
The South Rim is within Grand Canyon National Park, administered by the National Park Service. A park entrance fee applies (currently $35 per vehicle, valid 7 days; the America the Beautiful pass is accepted) and is collected at the gate unless your tour includes it. The rim is unfenced in many places — stay on marked trails and behind railings, and pack out what you bring in.
