The Return Flight & Overnight Option

It's a round trip — and you can stay the night on the ranch.

Round trip · Bar 10 → BLD

The day tour is a round trip: you fly Bar 10 → Boulder City in about 45 minutes, back over the Colorado River, Lake Mead, and Hoover Dam, then a complimentary hotel transfer to the Strip. Because the ranch is private and fly-in only, the return flight is part of every tour — there's no other scheduled way out.

Want more than a day? The overnight Bar 10 Ranch stay (2 days, 1 night) adds horseback riding, Dutch-oven meals, ranch activities like skeet and hiking, and a covered-wagon bunk under some of the darkest night skies in the country. It's seasonal and booked through a reservations specialist.

Round trip · Bar 10 → BLD

Why There's No Drive

The honest answer: there isn't a practical one.

Driving to Bar 10 Ranch

~110 mi of dirt · high-clearance 4WD only

There is no paved route to Bar 10 Ranch. The only road approach is roughly 110 miles (177 km) of unmaintained BLM tracks south from St. George, Utah, across the Arizona Strip — high-clearance four-wheel-drive country with no fuel, no services, and conditions that shift with the weather. River-trip outfitters use it for logistics; day visitors do not.

And the ranch itself is private land — there's no public drop-in. For practically every traveler the ~45-minute flight isn't the faster option, it's the only one. That's the whole point of the route.

What's At Bar 10 When You Land

Step off the airstrip into a working ranch on the canyon's wild North side.

Private working ranch · please respect

Bar 10 is a private, family-run cattle ranch, not a park — you're a guest on working land. It's remote backcountry on the Arizona Strip: expect limited or no cell service, pack out what you bring in, and follow your guides on the rim, which is unfenced. The tour is seasonal and weather-dependent; flights can shift with conditions.
